In July 2023, whilst on a rural walk on the outskirts of Wantage with my friend Jon, he happened to mention that he and a couple of friends were organising one of their major trips. This time they intended to go trekking in the Himalayas.
I told him that I thought that was an amazing thing to do. He then nonchalantly mentioned that there might be space for another crew member.
